My swap partner received her mug rug today so I can post this one. It is my attempt at modern. It is about 12 x 8 inches. It is hand quilted with pearl cotton in gray, green and blue. 
Here is a look at the back where you can see a bit more of the stitching... and a great big wrinkle. I don't think it is really that lumpy.
