Prayer Flags

As part of our 911 remembrance we made prayer flags. I spent the rest of the day sewing them together. It was a fitting way to spend the afternoon. I added in the blank flags. There is plenty of room for you to add yours.

  1. The flags were made from some very inexpensive cotton remnants from the chain store. They were stitched onto a strand of single fold bias tape with a fairly large zig zag stitch.

These were not intended to be a long lasting project. It is my understanding that the real prayer flags are made of silk and I have seen some pretty cool projects made from them. I'm not sure what I think about that, but they are also intended to be ephemeral.
