Quilty Goodness

I like to quilt. Actually, I really like fabric and need an excuse to acquire more. So quilting it is. The fact that I can go to my stash and make a gift in short order helps even more. Right now I am working on an Irish Chain quilt. I am doing a very simple version with simple nine patch blocks. That is it up there on the design floor!

The fabric was selected by my kids because it it to become a signature quilt for a retiring teacher. They chose the fabric from the stash that would most appeal to the teacher and represent her classroom. Since they are boys, I have to say there aren't a lot of pretty flowers. There aren't any as matter of fact. But they chose such bright happy colors and so many different colors that it almost looks more scrappy than chain-y. If I would just settle on the final arrangement, I could put it together in very short order.

Here is a closer look at the fabrics. the red 'flowers' are ants. The multicolored 'flowers' are gears and the green 'flowers' are bees. The black fabrics have tools and notes. Everything but the note fabric and the white on white background was from my stash. I'll be back with more later.
